Protect Your Skin during the Winter Months

I love winter. During this glorious time of the year, I enjoy spending time with family members during the holiday season. I also like to sip hot chocolate while lounging in flannel pajamas. While I adore winter, I don’t like what the cold weather can do to my skin. To prevent your skin from becoming too dry when the weather turns cold outside, drink plenty of water. Also, apply a moisturizer to your skin a couple of times each day. If you must go outdoors in dangerously frigid temperatures, make sure to cover your face properly. On this blog, I hope you will discover smart tips to make your skin glow during the winter months. Enjoy!

2 Kid Friendly Oil Treatments Get Rid Of Your Child's Head Lice

Head lice can be extremely difficult to get rid of in young children because they are often in close contact with each other. This gives the lice a chance to quickly spread from one head to the next. The best way to keep lice from spreading is to treat it immediately. Lice treatments can often be uncomfortable for many children to undergo because of the smell or the process. Fortunately, there are a few oil treatments that you can use to help get rid of your child's head lice.

Tea Tree and Orange Oil Treatment

Tea tree oil is considered to be a powerful remedy when it comes to treating bacterial infection and other contaminants. The oil works well to eradicate head lice because of its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. The oil has an intense smell that can be irritating to small children but orange helps to mask this smell. Orange oil is often used as an air freshener because of its vibrant smell. In order to create a lice hair oil treatment for your child, heat a carrier oil, such as coconut or olive, in a pot. Once the carrier oil is warm, remove it from the stove. Add seven to ten drops of the tea tree oil along with a few drops of orange oil. Apply the oil to your child's scalp and allow it to sit there for at least an hour, then rinse.

Eucalyptus and Rose Oil

Eucalyptus oil is often used in aromatherapy because it helps to open your airways and kill off bacterial contaminants. This also makes it effective in getting a handle on your child's head lice. Eucalyptus oil will kill off the lice and leave your child with a clean scalp. Rose oil is great for restoring moisture to your child's hair and adds a soothing smell to the oil mix. Microwave olive oil in a small cup and add several drops of eucalyptus oil along with rose oil. Mix the oils thoroughly, then use it to coat your child's hair. Leave the mixture in their hair overnight, then rinse it out in the morning. Use this mixture daily in order to see a reduction in their head lice as quickly as possible.

Head lice may seem virtually impossible to get rid of especially when you are dealing with small children. Therefore, use these oil treatments that both you and your child will love in order to get the job done. For more lice treatment tips, contact a local doctor.
